Recap: 2022 IRA Conference and Tradeshow
The Recoup Team had a tremendous time, meeting exhibiting, presenting sessions and learning (a lot of learning!) at the 2022 Investment Recovery Association Conference in Scottsdale, AZ.
The week started with the team flying into sunny Phoenix, AZ and quickly got to Hilton Scottsdale Resort & Villas, it was a perfect host location for the large showing of investment recovery professionals. The first morning started off with a healthy breakfast where we were able to see new and old faces before starting our event filled day.
The keynote speech on the first day was delivered from Scott Turnbow from the TVA. He discussed at length about the power of doing “just a little bit more” than the task requires. He gave his real world experiences that helped him early in his career, how we can create our own opportunities, and the importance of ensuring those who serve under us are given the opportunity to strive. When your team is empowered they can truly be successful and the biggest winner is the customer you’re serving.
Since many of Investment Recovery Association members come from public and private industries whose processes generate significant surplus assets in either equipment or process by-products such as scrap metal or recyclable items. Steve Ekin, our Sales Director has extensive experience with this so he was asked to present on to to present on two topics. As a member of the association’s education committee, Steve eagerly accecpted the task and was highly attended with much engagement. The first topic was on the disposition disposal process call the Seven R’s and the final ,on Scrap Recycling and Environmental Concerns. Both topics are covered in the Investment Recovery Handbook and required to complete the association’s Certified Manager of Investment Recovery (CMIR)
On both Monday and Tuesday the hosts of the conference provided great opportunities to meet the attendees’ using the dedicated vender time slot, with amazing entertainment and food including a huge chunk of meat and a Guitar Hero contest where AssetWorks took first place! On the final day we were able to attend a “fireside chat” that gave great insight on how to empower professionals to act and make decisions that can result in thousands and even millions saved in expenditures.
The Recoup Team had an incredible at our first of many Investment Recovery Association Conference and Trade Show. Meeting new friends from all over the United States, and even some international ones. We loved hearing your challenges how we can work on solutions to assist them in their investment recovery process or create all new processes to ensure that each organization can achieve its full potential. Thank you to our gracious hosts from the Investment Recovery Association now onwards to 2023 hosted in Nashville, TN. AssetWorks will be there!
