Press Release: Heavy Duty Trucks Go Electric with AssetWorks Solution

AssetWorks, a leading provider of fleet, fuel and asset management software solutions, announced today that it is providing charging infrastructure for battery-electric truck deployments in the California Bay Area.

WAYNE, PA. December 8, 2021 AssetWorks, a leading provider of fleet, fuel and asset management software solutions, announced today that it is providing charging infrastructure for battery-electric truck deployments in the California Bay Area.

Beginning in 2022, AssetWorks will deploy 124kw DC Fast Chargers and 80-amp quick Level 2 Chargers to support a mix of light through and heavy-duty trucks including the Kenworth K270e and Ford F-150 Lightning. This project will be one of the first of its kind undertaken by a California public fleet and is being driven by organizational sustainability goals as well the California Advanced Clean Fleet Rule currently under development.

AssetWorks’ team of electric vehicle charging infrastructure specialists work with fleets to develop site-specific plans for charging infrastructure. Based on fleet requirements, including future integration with the organization’s enterprise software, the AssetWorks team assisted fleet leadership in developing an appropriate equipment strategy from more than sixty different available makes and models of electric vehicle chargers.

“After intensive development and testing we are now at the point of offering smart infrastructure solutions that are fully compatible with FleetFocus and able to support the electrification of all fleet assets- including medium- and heavy-duty vehicles.” said Mike Terreri, EV Product Manager at AssetWorks “Durability, resiliency and overall quality are extremely important for medium- and heavy-duty EV projects. The stakes are much higher and mistakes many times more costly than with light-duty vehicle projects. Having trusted partners with reliable technology and service is key.”

All of the chargers deployed as a part of this project will operate using SemaConnect charge management software and be integrated with FleetFocus with FuelFocusEV- an integrator of EV charging cost and usage data. Similar to gasoline and diesel, EV charging data will be captured in real-time and segmented by department, asset class and unit in more than 19 self-generating reports plus used by other analytic tools and in other modules.

Fleets have more options than ever when considering charging. AssetWorks helps fleets early in the planning process to confirm not just compatibility with software like FleetFocus, but actual site design requirements as well.
