Announcing the Academy Keynote Speaker and Collaboration Track!

So who is the Academy Keynote speaker?

Each year, the AssetWorks team works hard to ensure our customers’ success at the AssetWorks Academy. The Academy is an excellent opportunity for our customers to continue their software education and network with other fleet and asset management professionals from across North America and the United Kingdom.

With that in mind, it is with great excitement that we introduce Mario Guzman, Director of Support Services at the City of West Palm Beach, Florida, as the keynote speaker at this year’s AssetWorks Academy in Atlanta.

Who is Mario Guzman?

Director of Support Services - City of West Palm Beach, Florida

Mario Guzman assetworks keynoteMario brings over 20 years of industry experience to the Academy. Over the course of his career, he served in many different roles, including technician, fleet manager and general services manager. Mario and his team at the City of West Palm Beach’s Fleet Division is responsible for vehicle/equipment acquisition, maintenance, re-marketing, facilities management and record retention. Additionally, they manage fuel at an in-house station. He holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and is passionate about empowering his employees.

All customers registered for the AssetWorks Academy are welcome to attend the keynote presentation immediately following the Academy’s opening address on Monday, March 25th. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to learn from an industry leader on how to successfully lead teams through change.

So what topics are part of this year’s Academy Collaboration Track?

In addition, returning to the 2019 AssetWorks Academy will be the Collaboration Track, which will consist of multiple Industry Insights roundtable discussions focused on current industry trends.

As has been the case for over 20 years, our goal for the Academy is to provide an educational opportunity for our customers to learn industry best practices and network with other fleet professionals with a fresh perspective. To make this possible, your valuable participation and insightful contributions are the cornerstone of what the Academy is all about. We are excited to announce the following Industry Insights discussions for the 2019 AssetWorks Academy:

Industry Insights - The Changing Landscape of Alternative Vehicles

This Industry Insight will focus on many aspects of “alternative vehicles.” Discussion points may include electric vehicles, autonomous vehicles and alternate fuels. In addition, the panel will cover the direction that we see the industry heading, which types of vehicles/fuel structures have been observed or are predicted to produce higher ROI and how AssetWorks FuelFocus has helped modern fleets adapt to changing fuel structures.

Industry Insights - Managing Utility Assets

This Industry Insight will focus on gaining an understanding of how utility organizations are using AssetWorks software to run utilities. The panel will consist of representatives from several different utility organizations, and they will spend time discussing what they have found to be “best practices” moving forward with AssetWorks software.

Industry Insights - Public & Private Fleets: Opportunities for Knowledge Sharing

This Industry Insight will focus on how public and private fleets can work together or learn from each other. There will be time for discussion about the importance of being able to see the “big picture” of fleet management from start to finish. In addition, panelists will spend time explaining where public differs from private industry, along with the best practices they have found.

Last but certainly not least, this Industry Insight will discuss how organizations are using fleet data to choose cost effective equipment and navigate budget restraints. One focus of discussion will include the “economics of buying lowest bid assets-vs-standard” fleet assets.
