“ As an Internal Service Fund (ISF) we bill on mileage. With AssetWorks we will be able to capture meter readings in real-time using FuelFocus’ Radio Frequency (RF) technology and not a week later as we have with our current system. Our customers will be able to log into the system and see what charges they have and the status of their equipment. We will gain the ability to notify customers of services due and when vehicles are ready through e-mail.”

A Single Database versus Multiple Databases
And Why It Makes a Difference

Benefits at a Glance |
• Efficient Operation
• Accurate Data |
• Enhanced Features
• Configuration |
While most fuel systems can interface with your fleet management software, only the FuelFocus fuel management system can offer vital information about your vehicle’s utilization and performance in REAL-TIME. When working in partnership with AssetWorks’ FleetFocus solution, FuelFocus instantly sends critical fueling details, meter readings and even engine codes back to a single database without the inconvenience and delay of an intermittent or stalled batch process. With the fully integrated FleetFocus-FuelFocus solution, everything from fuel orders to receipts and tank stick readings to totalizer readings is performed on a single system.
Because all data is maintained in a single database, there is no possibility of fuel data becoming out of sync with fleet management data. In addition, the information collected by the fuel system is more accurate because it is shared and validated by all sources. Odometer and hour meter readings are stored in the central FleetFocus database and shared by all sources (work order, fuel transactions, motor pool tickets, usage tickets).
Enhanced features such as Driver Notification/Messaging about PM schedules can be accomplished easily because maintenance data is available to the fuel system. FleetFocus has also been designed to allow for centralized or decentralized management of fuel. The system can be configured so that some functions, such as fuel card entries, are performed centrally, and other functions, such as fuel orders are performed by each fuel site. Authorized users can access fuel data and functions from any workstation running FleetFocus within the client’s network.
FuelFocus enables users to tailor the system to meet varied operational demands (no card, one card, two card, and input editing checks), as well as to expand with minimal hardware modification. Each FuelFocus Island Control Unit (ICU) contains an internal microprocessor providing access to the fuel system without central site computer dependency. Microprocessor control at the pump site enables the system to capture and edit data regardless of central site computer status. Pump control units can function as stand-alone units, as servers to a central processor, or as on-line devices of a central processor (which is the most efficient method).
